A Christmas Map, a Mysterious Cat and a Little Kindness — Lily Paige-Turner’s Christmas Story for 2026
Christmas is coming, and Lily Paige-Turner has a new adventure to share with young readers — with Lily and her ever-inquisitive beagle, Charlie, at the heart of it.
Her Christmas story for 2026 begins with snow falling outside, decorations coming down from the attic, and an old cardboard box containing something rather unexpected.
A hand-drawn map.
For Lily, that is interesting enough. Add a mysterious message, some curious pawprints and the possibility of treasure, and Christmas suddenly becomes much more exciting.
Charlie, naturally, is ready to investigate. Especially if there might be biscuits along the way.
Following the paws
The map leads Lily and her family towards the snowy woods, where an old oak tree holds the first clues to a story almost forgotten.
Then a grey cat appears.
With a red ribbon around his neck and a tiny silver bell announcing his arrival, Mr Whiskers seems to know exactly where they should go. Whether he is an ordinary cat is another question altogether.
As Lily follows the trail, she discovers the name of a little girl called Emily Hawthorne. Behind that name lies a mystery stretching back more than fifty years — and a Christmas tradition whose beginnings deserve to be remembered.
But anyone expecting a chest of gold may find that Emily had a different idea of treasure.
A Christmas adventure with heart
There is plenty of Charlie’s familiar mischief throughout: an impressive appetite, some enthusiastic digging, and a firm belief that every expedition should include a refreshment stop.
Alongside the humour, this is a story about generosity, remembrance and the lasting effect of a small act of kindness. It gently touches on loss and the people we continue to hold dear, while leaving room for wonder.
At its centre are six simple words:
If you have two, give one.
They are easy words to remember. What Lily discovers is how far one little girl’s idea can travel.
Written in twelve chapters, the story is suited to readers around eight to twelve, or to families who enjoy sharing a chapter together. Snowy paths, Christmas lights, hidden messages and an unlikely friendship between a beagle and a cat make it a seasonal adventure with plenty to discuss afterwards.
Lily Paige-Turner’s Christmas story for 2026 is being prepared for release as a Kindle ebook. I’ll share the Amazon link here when it is available.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for pawprints in the snow.
And listen carefully for a little silver bell.
