Aberfan — sixty years on.
Today, we remember Aberfan and the families whose lives were changed forever on 21 October 1966.
I was thirteen when the news came through. I remember listening to the radio with my mother, who was in tears. That memory has stayed with me ever since.
It was that lasting memory that led me to write Aberfan and Aberfan II: to examine what happened, what followed, and why this story still matters.
On this anniversary, my thoughts are with the survivors, the bereaved families and the people of Aberfan.
