Giving the Catalogue a Fresh Look
If you've visited Billy's Book Club recently, you may have noticed a few changes.
Over the past week I've been carrying out a major review of the website and my book catalogue, refreshing covers, updating series information, improving descriptions, and making sure readers can more easily discover the books that interest them.
With more than 100 titles published across a wide range of genres, maintaining a catalogue is an ongoing process. While writing new books remains a priority, it's equally important to ensure that existing books are presented as professionally as possible.
Why Update Older Books?
Every author evolves over time.
The covers I created several years ago reflected the tools, experience, and design trends available at the time. Today, readers expect clear branding, stronger visuals, and a consistent appearance across a series.
Refreshing older covers helps:
- Improve reader experience
- Create stronger series branding
- Increase visibility on online bookstores
- Better reflect the content of each book
- Maintain a professional catalogue
Rediscovering Older Stories
One of the most enjoyable parts of this project has been revisiting books I haven't looked at in some time.
In particular, I've been updating the Lily and Charlie's Adventures children's series, inspired by mybeloved beagle Charlie. Seeing these stories again reminded me why I wrote them in the first place: friendship, kindness, curiosity, and adventure.
I've also been reviewing non-fiction titles covering cybercrime, artificial intelligence, sustainability, espionage, financial scandals, and historical events.
Sometimes the stories don't need changing at all.
They simply need a fresh presentation.
Building for the Future
Billy's Book Club continues to grow as both a website and a reader community.
My goal is simple: create a place where readers can easily discover books, learn about upcoming projects, and follow the journey behind the stories.
There are still a few publishing anomalies hiding in the catalogue—every large collection seems to have them—but one by one they're being tracked down and fixed.
It's all part of the process.
Thanks for visiting Billy's Book Club and for supporting independent authors.
More books, more adventures, and more behind-the-scenes updates are coming soon.
