Behind the Scenes at Billy’s Book Club
It has been a little quieter here over the past week, so I thought it was time for a quick update.
I have been busy with the work that goes on behind the scenes at Stewart Independent Publishing Group. There is always something needing attention: checking details, reviewing the backlist and giving existing books another careful look. It all takes time, and it doesn’t always leave much to announce at the end of the day.
I have also been revisiting some older manuscripts, with the thought of breathing new life into them.
Returning to a manuscript after time away can be surprisingly useful. You notice things you missed before. Sometimes the reason you began writing it comes back immediately; sometimes you can see more clearly what it still needs.
At the moment, I am reading, taking notes and considering which pieces deserve further work. It is too early to promise particular titles or publication dates, but I have enjoyed opening those doors again.
