About Bill Stewart

Bill Stewart is an award-winning Scottish author whose books blend meticulous research with cinematic storytelling, bringing history's defining moments vividly to life.

After spending more than four decades at sea, Bill rose from Boy Seaman to Marine Auditor and Lead Accident Investigator, specialising in marine incidents, accident investigation, safety management, and complex operational systems. Those years taught him that every major event has a story beneath the headlines—and that the smallest detail can often change our understanding of history.

Today, Bill brings that investigative mindset to his writing.

His growing catalogue of more than 165independently published books spans narrative history, maritime history, espionage, engineering, historical fiction, and true crime. Many of his best ideas begin not in an office, but on the road with a notebook, a camera, and a good cup of tea.
